Never Seems to End Well (poetry) (off topic)
Never Seems to End Well (poetry) (off topic) Never Seems to End Well You say the are marching that never seems to end well they did once before to support the Crusades their intention to reach the Holy Lands the march did not end well at all if the are marching likely some will die and yet you say some already have been killed where they stood in terror at their hool teachers gunned down trying to protect these innocents from having blood shed isn't hool a safe place to learn the stories bright gain fresh educational insight watch the clock and desire for longer hours of recess the are marching it will not end well and when you say some are murdered in their hool grounds slaughtered happening every few days the innocents gunned down by those of unsound mind well armed the message these marchers carry to address legislators not in a hurry you say the are marching that never seems to end welll but if the are being slaughtered and the adults stand aside and say there is nothing to be d then I think this may already be hell. yes, that is where the NRA seems to have won the discussion in America, by implying those places where better gun controls are in place there are no guns, and this would leave everyone defenceless. We, in Australia, have stricter gun laws, and remove the right to carry weapons which have no other use than killing people (when you think of it, you are preparing for a murder when you purchase such a gun, for it is useless for hunting, or any other use a gun would normally have!), and yet will allow those shown to be sane and reasonable to have weapons in safe and secure conditions. I suspect we have been fortunate and lucky not to have had a mass killing as guns are still available to those who want to commit such acts...but we have broken the frequency of such killings, and made such acts unacceptable in our society. So those who might are perhaps reaching for the phone to call lifeline, or similar organisations, rather than take their disagreements with family, work, or society, out upon society by having a mass killing. It is sickening to me the level that folks go to keep their weapons of death. Assault weapons should be banned. The GOP who are owned by the NRA won't even entertain raising the age from 18 to 21. They want to arm teachers who are not trained like police who are only 18 percent accurate. It is easier to get a gun in some states than it is to vote. But the GOP do not have a problem with denying folks the right to vote without an ID. It is not just schools that are having massacres...it is churches, movie theatres, concerts. It is anywhere some anger driven person(nearly all male as far as I know) see as causing them a grievance. We have a political party that claims to be pro life but advocate for guns. They do not see the cognitive dissonance of that. I appreciate your recalling the Crusades. Folks in the US recall a time when high school kids and young adults did a lot of protesting. That was the Vietnam War. There was a draft and it was sending young men to slaughter not to mention a war that could not be won. I have a college friend who lives in Newtown CT. I did not even know she lived there until a few years after the massacre there in 2012. When I found out I was somewhat comforted. Her children were older not shot as they were not in the first grade. My friend is a nurse and one of the most warm and affectionate people I ever met. She was known for her hugs. I imagine she has given thousands of them to those grieving in that community. Small comfort but some nonetheless. Just imagine 26 children and teachers were gunned down and nothing was done. The parents chose not to have the photos of their children released to the world. I am wondering if those photos would have moved the GOP who are owned by the NRA. Sorry for the rant. I am very passionate about the need for gun legislation that makes it harder for folks to have guns not easier as is the case for the GOP. They want to allow guns in churches, in bars, in schools, in colleges, but ironically they are not allowed in the US Capital or an NRA convention or the Republican convention. Sadly, it not a Trump era phenomenon, the shootings began earlier, and been allowed to continue. IT reflects a deeper ennui, and loss of purpose in the art of governing for the benefit of the people, within the core of America. Thoughts in sensual pleasure to erotic writing writ. the topic is probably as apolitical as you could find to simply stop children being killed being gunned down. And yet it has become so political when the question should not be votes or if industry lobbyists will give money to future election campaigns or current it should be how best to protect the children. If there was famine fire or flood you would not blithely stand aside as the children died now every few days in shootings they do and you stand and say there is nothing you will do.
